about

The 4th release from the 10-track series 'Signs of Life'.

The titular track of the series focuses on the passing of time; It ask for signs of new life hidden in the remains of the old, it asks for survivors to make themselves known.
Layers of time, dinosaurs, treasures hidden in the rock.
These words came about through Helen's love of beachcombing and how this pursuit connects her with past times.
Duria Antiquior, sung in the chorus, translates as "A more ancient Dorset" and is a painting by Henry De La Beche from 1830, based on fossils found by the famous geologist Mary Anning.

lyrics

The killing elm preserved
The ancient bones of us.
Housed in a rocky tomb, the pterosaurs.
Under the killing elm,
What’s left to answer for?
We’ll sell shells, down by the shore.

Duria antiquior.

Life held on, 200 Million,
Maybe more.
Oh, flooding land, a coming cure.
Combing to find, the answers we left there before,
Out of luck, washed up, by the shore.

Duria antiquior.

Casing glass, bottles strewn,
Oh, veins of gold, an earthen womb
Spring tide come and wash me home.
Veins of gold, only fragments of answers anymore.
We’ll still see her, down by the shore.

Deep time runs,
Above the blue,
Below full moon,
Oh landslide
Survive, survive, survive.
Coming to find,
Combing to find,
Hoping to find
Signs of life,
Signs,
Signs of life.
Survive,
Signs of life,
Survive.
